5 Hidden Gem Vaca Spots

For most of us, it doesn’t seem like summer is right around the corner. But it’s a different story when you’re trying to book hotels & flights to your favorite beaches. So you have to start thinking now! Here are some awesome vaca spots that have all the fun, with half the tourists.

Leo-Carrillo-State-Park_Image3 Leo Carrillo State Beach, California: Of course, Cali is the place to be if you want the best of both worlds, (the beach and the hills.) This beach is more secluded than most Cali beaches, so you have more freedom to do the things you love like surfing, swimming, sun bathing, or even cave exploring and hiking.

Amelia Island, Florida: This Island off the coast of Florida offers clean beaches, and a less touristy atmosphere. Spend the day riding horses along the shore, or just laying out in the sun. They offer daily tours, and access to several parks. They also have a very lengthy history involving piracy. Who wouldn’t want to go to a place that used to have pirates?

Orange Beach, Alabama: This beach is a bit more popular than the other. Because it offers not only great beaches and fishing, but also popular restaurants, the largest Ferris wheel in the Southeast, and year-round events like the Mardi Gras parade and the Orange Beach Festival. This place has a lot of fun to offer, especially if you’re single.

Tybee Island, Georgia: Also called Savannah Beach, Tybee offers tons of beautiful beaches, great food, and fun events like The Tybee Wine Festival, all just 30 minutes from Savannah. You can swim, go windsurfing, search for shells, or even swim with dolphins. That’s right, swim with dolphins.

Puerto Rico: The great thing about Puerto Rico is that you don’t need a passport, and yet el-yunque-rainforest-half-day-trip-from-san-juan-in-san-juan-45586the prices to stay there and to enjoy yourself are much lower than in the states. Puerto Rico offers amazing beaches with clear blue water, a fun night life, hundreds of years worth of Puerto Rican culture, and beautiful scenery. You could spend the day in El Yunque, the Puerto Rican rainforest, watching the waterfalls, and then go party it up in San Juan. It’s a great place to go to have something for everybody.
