It’s that time in the semester where classwork starts to pick up, and there are more Greek Life events happening at one time than you can count on two hands. Sometimes, it feels like there isn’t enough time in your day to schedule everything. And stressing over the time crunch doesn’t help! We’re giving you some quick tips to help manage your busy schedule and enjoy both parts of the college lifestyle.
Write it down: Agendas are great tools to help keep track of all your activities. Using different colored pens or highlighters to separate Greek activities from class assignments will help you stay organized.
Bring your studies with you: Use event intermissions or breaks to skim over textbook chapters or make flashcards. During events like Relay For Life, there are times where you aren’t walking laps. Take advantage of the downtime and look over notes. Or ask members to quiz you on test materials. Chances are, you aren’t the only one who has a large course load.
Ask for advice: You aren’t alone! Rely on your peers to help you with the stress. Whenever you’re having trouble with keeping on top of your schedule, your members are there to help! Many Greeks are involved in more than just their fraternity or sorority
Don’t go overboard: It’s tough not to be able to do everything, but don’t forget the primary reason to be in school is to get an education. Skip little events like Greek mixers on weekends or a lacrosse game. Trying to squeeze every little activity in will not only give you a headache, but won’t allow you to completely enjoy them.
Remember, keep a positive attitude! If you tell yourself you can’t do something, then you won’t. Now is the time to challenge yourself.
“There is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do.”
― Henry Ford
